Mishal Husain

Mishal Husain is a familiar face on BBC1's prime time Sunday evening news and to viewers all over the world as a main presenter on the international channel BBC World. But, like millions of other mothers, she juggles her career with looking after her children – and is Grub4Life’s Resident Working Mum.

Mishal Husain's profile
She is one of the few British Muslims represented in the national broadcast media and has helped advise the government on Muslim issues, serving on a Foreign Office working group in 2006-07 and chairing a session involving British Muslim women at Downing Street, at the invitation of Tony Blair.
Mishal was born in the UK in 1973 but grew up in the Middle East. She was educated at Cambridge University, where she read law, and went on to complete a Masters in Law at the European University Institute in Florence.
She began her career as a business journalist at Bloomberg Television, moving on to the BBC and getting her break in front of the camera as a reporter in 2001.
In 2004 she was named ‘Young Achiever of the Year' at the Asian Women of Achievement Awards.
