4,000 Suffolk kids vow to get fit


4,000 Suffolk youngsters have signed up for challenges to make them the fittest in the country.26-06-2009

The scheme, part of the Healthy Ambitions Suffolk Challenge, was launched end of April but is close to reaching its target of 5,000 children by the end of July. The scheme aims to encourage youngsters to be active for an hour a day every day. One in six 11 year olds in Suffolk are classified as obese, and the obesity problem is costing NHS Suffolk £10million a year to treat overweight people.
