Swansea University’s Professor David Benton carried out a review of scientific evidence on sugar and bad behaviour. Despite popular opinion which tends to blame sugary drinks and foods for hyperactivity, he found only a minority of children were actually affected by what they ate. He said a combination of food, genetics and environmental toxins such as smoking during pregnancy are more likely to be causes of ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder).
